Sorry I have been so MIA! I can't believe I haven't posted in over a week. It was a combination of 1) being busy 2) my laziness 3) my life being boring and having nothing to post about -__-;;
Anyways, here is a mass photo post of things that have been going on in my life. Most of the photos are from this past weekend and how I spent my Chinese New Year.

CNY Nails. Red and gold!

My brother made dinner! Porkchops, potatos, and garlic bread. It was so delicious and well cooked. I'm so impressed at how skilled of a chef he's becoming!
--------------------------------------------------
After my brother made dinner, my boyfriend and I went for a walk. We went to a gelato place called Capogiro. Capogiro is one of my favorite dessert places (they sell other things dishes too, but I've only ever had their gelato). All their ingredients come from fresh, local sources. They have interesting flavors like Rosemary Honey Goat's Milk, Thai Coconut, and even one called Christmas Tree (sounds strange, but tasted really good and was very refreshing!) No matter what flavor or how foreign it seems, it always tastes good. I think their ingredients are contingent on local sources, so the available flavors are always different every time I go.

Chocolate hazelnut and Thai coconut gelato. Kind of a weird mix, but still good. I think mixing gelato or froyo flavors is really an art o__o

Cool seating and interior color scheme.

Sorry for the LQ images. More images of the interior. I love how modern and clean it looks inside. So quaint, yet clean and comfortable.

Beautiful lights and snow on the ground.
I'll continue more with my CNY weekend in another post! I took lots of pictures. I think posting everything at once would be too much randomness for one post :P
I'll be busy with studies and work soon, but I'll try to keep up with blogging. I think I really need this as an outlet for just writing and personal expression. So hopefully I won't let myself disappear again!
Some other notes! :)
- I'm going to try to make more art-related posts, other than photography. I think it will force me to develop my art interests. Expect pencil drawings/doodles, graphic designs, and DIYs (with tutorials!) soon. I love creative projects, even if my skills are not well-developed. I just don't know why I am so lazy when it comes to starting projects
ヘ(´o`)ヘ

My boyfriend and I tried to make Korean beef bulgogi recently. But instead of following a recipe, we sort of...made up our own.

Our 3 main flavors: Korean BBQ sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper.

The marinated beef with chopped onions, black pepper, garlic, and Korean BBQ sauce.

Mushrooms

Mushrooms all chopped up

bubble bubble...everything tossed into the pan!

Finished product!
I originally looked up recipes for making bulgogi, but we just decided to go with the Korean BBQ Sauce since it was easier and we already had it on hand. My bf uses it all the time and loves it, so I really wanted to try it. Plus we had a whole jar, might as well use it up! This sauce was supposed to be the main marinade, but I just decided to add garlic and black pepper too since I add it to everything anyway :)
I chopped up about half a large, yellow onion and mixed it in with the meat and everything else. After letting it marinade for a few hours, we tossed the whole mix, plus the cut up mushrooms, into a hot pan with oil! -insert sizzling interlude-
After trying a cooked piece from the pan, we decided it didn't taste right and started adding random ingredients like salt and sesame oil. Helped a little, but it still didn't taste like how were expecting it to.
After it finally finished cooking, we put them into our bowls of jasmine rice and feasted with our friends. It definitely didn't taste like authentic bulgogi, but it wasn't bad! Maybe we should've just stuck with the Korean BBQ marinade alone, or followed an actual recipe...Hopefully next time we'll get it right. When we do, I will be sure to share! :)
PS. I finally reuploaded the pictures from my old posts! Check them out if you want to :)
